Multiple Sclerosis Society Fundraiser

category: Non Profit Events -

Hi Neighbors

My wife Nancy has MS and is part of a group called “Women On The Move” which is part of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the MS Society. They have a fundraiser luncheon to benefit the MS Society every year.

This year’s event is Thursday, September 22, 2011, 10: 30 am to 1:30 pm at the Fox Chapel Golf Club. The gust performer is David Osmond (nephew of Donnie and Marie). Both David and his father Allan have MS, but David is doing very well now and wants to help raise awareness of MS.

We are looking for:

  • People to attend the luncheon
  • Donations or raffle ticket purchases
  • Businesses to donate items for the silent auction
  • Just pass the word

Here’s a link to the webpage where you can find out more

Everyday lessons on security

Today’s speakers were addressing different security issues. Security is something I have a keen interest in. First, John McCool spoke about ID theft and there were some interesting ideas.

John’s talk got the next speaker Paul Gatto of Verizon Wireless Zone, on to the security track as well. He mentioned that it’s a good idea to put something on your smartphone to lock it up remotely if it’s ever lost or stolen.

That got me thinking about Prey.

Prey lets you keep track of not just your phone, but also your laptop at all times, and will help you find it if it ever gets lost or stolen. It’s lightweight so it doesn’t hog your machine’s resources, it’s open source software which I love, and free for anyone to use.

Not only will it lock up your phone (and track it), you can also run it on your laptop and have your machine take pictures of the one who has it and send them to you. Very Cool!

Stress In The Work Place VS Having No Stress

I was reading the Pittsburgh Business Times yesterday and found an article all about stress at the work place. –Written by kmamula

The article listed the top 7 causes of stress in the work place as follows
14% of people said low pay
11% said commuting
9% said unreasonable workload,
9% said fear of being fired or laid off
8% said annoying coworkers
5% annoying boss
4% lack of advancement opportunity –Source: Harris Interactive Survey Done For Everest College –Polling About 1000 U.S. Adults

It is my pleasure to share that the business concept that I work with has NONE of these things.

In my business if you are willing to do the work the sky is the limit for pay!

In my business you can work from home in your jammies, or go out to the finest restaurants to conduct business. Just imagine the time you can save from sitting in traffic.

In my business you simply help other people. You choose how much work you want to do and when. Your income is also residual and reproductive.

In my business you cannot get laid off or fired unless you do something illegal.

In my business your only boss is YOU!

Lastly, in my business the ability to advance is almost endless. You choose the work you are willing to do. If you treat this business like a business you will advance to the level you believe you deserve.

If this business concept sound interesting to you give me a call and we can set up a time to get you educated about us. Once you have the facts you can be the judge as to if this is something you feel might enhance your life.
