My wife Nancy has MS and is part of a group called “Women On The Move” which is part of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the MS Society. They have a fundraiser luncheon to benefit the MS Society every year.

This year’s event is Thursday, September 22, 2011, 10: 30 am to 1:30 pm at the Fox Chapel Golf Club. The gust performer is David Osmond (nephew of Donnie and Marie). Both David and his father Allan have MS, but David is doing very well now and wants to help raise awareness of MS.

We are looking for:

• People to attend the luncheon
• Donations or raffle ticket purchases
• Businesses to donate items for the silent auction
• Just pass the word

The vision is to acquire the Aspinwall Marina property and develop it into a public riverfront park linking Aspinwall and the neighboring communities to the Allegheny River.

This will be a public park and everyone will be able to enjoy it.

This is a great opportunity for creating a green space along the riverfront and providing kayaking, fishing, picnic areas, boating and walking trails along with connecting to the bicycling trail.

So, remember to ask family members, friends and co-workers to support you and to help make this a successful fundraiser.  The average person spends at least $50 in Easter Candy every year, now you can help support the troops with your candy order.
